Sunday Club is held from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. each Sunday, for children aged 3 and over.
Most of our children are collected from home by our leaders using the Heathfield Gospel Hall minibus or private cars.
All of our Sunday Club leaders are members of Heathfield Gospel Hall and have been DBS checked.
We usually have between 20 and 30 children at Sunday Club each week.
Sunday Club is divided into two parts.
From 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. we sing choruses, pray, learn a memory verse, celebrate birthdays and distribute small rewards to those children who bring their Bible to Sunday Club.
From 1:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. we split into age-related classes for a Bible-based lesson.
Our youngest children are taught by Imo. They often appear from their classroom at the end of Sunday Club with items they have made to illustrate their Bible story.
Our next class is taught by Ruth. These children are primary school age. They often have a worksheet with questions, puzzles and colouring to complete.
Andy teaches the boys who are at the top end of primary school.
The older girls and boys are taught by Dot and Trevor.
Our Bible class is taught by Sam.
In January we have a party for those children who have attended regularly. We have tea and play games at Heathfield Gospel Hall.
In June or July we have an outing for those children who have attended regularly. In 2017 we went to Marbury village hall where we played games, ate sweets and a party tea and had races before coming home by coach.
We have several family services each year and the Sunday Club children sing and read poetry. We have a family service on Easter Sunday and at Christmas. Our Sunday Club prizegiving is held in September, at the end of our Sunday Club year. The children receive book prizes for their attendance. We offer a warm welcome to any parents, relatives or friends who come to our family services.
